We are Dr. Darshan Patel and Dr. John Paul. We grew up in Garland, and we opened Inspire Dental and Orthodontics on W. Centerville Rd in 2017 to take care of the community we came from. Dental emergencies do not wait for business hours, so we built our schedule around real life. Here is how we help, and what you can do before you reach us.

We are open when emergencies actually happen

Most dental pain flares up at the worst time, after work or on the weekend. That is exactly when a lot of offices are closed. We keep evening hours on weekdays and open on select Saturdays, and we save room every day for urgent visits. Call us and we will get you seen quickly instead of telling you to wait.

Same-day treatment

We reserve time each day for emergencies. Call early and we will do our best to treat the problem, not just look at it, in one visit.

Evenings and Saturdays

We stay open past 5 on weekdays and see patients on select Saturdays, so you can come in around work and school. Check our Garland hours or just call.

What counts as a dental emergency?

Call us right away if you notice any of these. Waiting usually makes treatment harder and more expensive.

  • A knocked-out permanent tooth
  • A cracked, broken, or badly chipped tooth, especially with pain
  • A throbbing toothache that keeps you up at night
  • Swelling in your face, jaw, or gums, or a bump on the gum, which can mean an infection
  • A lost crown, filling, or bridge
  • Bleeding that will not stop after gentle pressure

One safety note. If swelling spreads toward your eye or neck, or you have trouble breathing or swallowing, go to the nearest emergency room first, then call us to follow up.

Knocked-out tooth? Move fast

You have the best shot at saving a permanent tooth if we treat it within 30 to 60 minutes, according to the American Dental Association. Do these things on your way to us.

Do

  • Grab the tooth by the crown, the part you normally see
  • Rinse it gently with milk or saline if it is dirty
  • Slip it back into the socket and bite softly on a clean cloth
  • If it will not go back, keep it in milk or between your cheek and gums
  • Call us and come straight over

Do not

  • Do not touch or scrub the root
  • Do not store the tooth in tap water
  • Do not wrap it in a tissue, it dries out fast
  • Do not scrub off tissue attached to the tooth
  • Do not wait to see if the pain fades

If a baby tooth gets knocked out, do not push it back in. That can hurt the permanent tooth forming underneath. Call us and we will walk you through it.

Cracked or broken tooth

Rinse with warm water and hold a cold compress against your cheek to bring down swelling. Save any pieces. Skip chewing on that side and call us for a same-day look. We fix a fresh crack far more easily than one you have lived with for weeks.

Bad toothache or swelling

Pain that throbs, spreads, or wakes you up often points to an infection or an inflamed nerve. Rinse with warm salt water and take an over-the-counter pain reliever as directed. Do not lay aspirin on the gum, and do not ignore facial swelling. These are the visits where coming in today protects your tooth and your health.

Why your neighbors call us first

When you hurt, you want two things: to get in fast and to know the cost will not blindside you. We built the practice around both. You get same-day emergency care, evening and Saturday options, and a bilingual team so nothing gets lost in translation. We take Medicaid, CHIP, and most PPO plans, so money does not keep you from getting out of pain. General, pediatric, and orthodontic care all sit under one roof at our Garland office, so your whole family has one place to go.

Do not push through the pain. We keep same-day, evening, and Saturday spots open for Garland.
